Why Swaziland?

Located in southern Africa and bordered by South Africa and Mozambique, Swaziland is led by His Majesty King Mswati III and is the last absolute monarchy in Africa.  Residents of Swaziland speak siSwati and many people also speak English, which is the teaching language in school.

The country has the highest HIV rate in the world, and it is estimated that there are more than 200,000 orphans in Swaziland with more than half of the the total population being orphans and vulnerable children (OVC).  The onset of the worst drought in history dramatically increased food insecurity in the nation, and poverty and disease add to the challenges faced by the population.
