Friday's Child
Meet Timothy Abraham. Timothy is 10 years old and lives at New Hope
Center in Swaziland. Timothy and his little brother, Titus, came to New
Hope because their mother saw the New Hope Center van in town and asked
people what New Hope Center was about. They told her the home took
children who were destitute and needed a new home and a new family. She
walked over 7 miles to reach New Hope and ask if the home would take her
two little boys as she is dying of HIV/AIDS. Their father had already
died, as had the other family members. Their grandmother has become
mentally ill through all the stress of the disintegration of the family
so the mother was distraught about her two little boys. Thankfully God
has provided for them, and they are now at New Hope Center. Both boys
have TB and are on treatment, and New Hope prays they will grow strong.
Timothy was named after Timothy, Paul’s son in the Lord, as he has
such a sweet and lovely nature. What a wonderful difference in the lives
of children who have been spared the abuse that comes after losing both
of their parents.
