Several informed people have come to the following conclusion:

Heart for Africa is in need of a D6 Caterpiller.  They are currently using a neighbor’s old bulldozer at a cost of $125 per hour (if it is working or not).  In light of the amount of work that needs to be done, the immediate need is clear. 

There are several hundred acres of land yet to be cleared.  The current rate to clear each acre is $1000 per acre.  Project Canaan needs many additional roads for access and fire breaks.  And, with the onset of the rainy season, upkeep and maintenance is necessary to keep them from being washed out.  Additionally, several more lakes are needed throughout the property.  Most can be constructed by our staff in country.  The large dam that is needed immediately has over $100,000 estimated for work done by a bulldozer. 

The need for the D6 is now.  Timing is critical.  The D6 is $235,000.  Efforts are underway to procure a quality used bulldozer which will be adequate for every need. This dozer will be procured along with commonly needed spare parts. 

This fund needs your help.  Any assistance in funding or procurement would be greatly appreciated.
